This week’s blog post is dedicated to streetwear, which brings us to our first look — curated by me. I took advantage of this week’s blog assignment and a day of decent weather to explore my creativity and groove for styling. I used my good friend Joya Tucker as my muse for this little styling project. I put her in a vintage COOGI jacket that I thrifted, along with a thrifted snakeskin grommet belt around the waist, as well as some personal accessories of my own.

A look that caught my eye this week was this comfortable, yet edgy streetwear outfit from Naseem Muhammad. I personally like that this outfit is low-key in nature, yet the pop of neon orange brings in the element of fashion. I also like the pairing of a leather jacket with leisurewear. The two harness/chain details on the pants also bring another interesting element to the outfit. A simple, comfortable, yet fashionable streetwear moment.

This last streetwear look comes from Tommy Richards. Tommy’s look caught my eye because of the complementary color scheme, especially this pairing of purple and yellow. I find that not a lot of people take color theories into consideration when creating outfits — They bring an interesting element to your outfit and it can pay off if done well. The contrasting colors definitely drew my attention and naturally I asked for a picture.

** From a business perspective, it would be important for buyers, trend forecasters, etc. to know what’s in style right now. They need to know what trends are hot right now and which ones are burning out, so they are constantly on the lookout for upcoming trends.
